Vallis Alpes (diagonal line, centre), a lunar valley. This valley bisects the Montis Alpes (lunar alps), a mountain range formed by an object impacting the Moon. Vallis Alpes is 166 km long, extending from Mare Imbrium basin to the edge of the Mare Frigoris. Its maximum width is around 10 km.
