Secondary cancer. Coloured magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of an axial (horizontal) view of a secondary cancerous growth (yellow) in the eye of a 74-year-old male. The primary cancer was found in the patient's thigh and has spread, a process known as metastasis. Once secondary growths are discovered, the prognosis is poor. Treatment in the form of surgical removal, followed by chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy only offers a temporary cure.
