Sperm whale tissue analysis. Scientist at the National Veterinary Institute in Copenhagen examining tissue samples that were dissected from the remains of a stranded whale. Here, the scientist has isolated a parasitic flatworm (Phyllobothrium delphini) found within the whale. The tissue sample came from a dead male sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) that was found on Henne Strand, Jutland, Denmark. The specimen measured 14 meters in length and weighed an estimated 30 tonnes.
