The Cup, that crossed the border. The Irish Professional Golf Championship Cup, won by Fred Daly (Balmoral Club, Belfast) was at one time held on the Eire Northern Ireland border by the Customs, subject to a ?00 purchase tax, but the authorities allowed the 1907 trophy through in time for the presentation. Vice Adml, his Excellency the Earl of Granville, Gov of Northern Ireland, handed the Cup to Fred Daly on the Clandeboye course, C County Down. Daly won the Irish open championship in Eire as well as the Ulster Professional Championship this year.
