Estonia; island of Saaremaa (German/Swedish: 謘el); city of Kuressaare (German: former Arensburg): German war cemetery (German: Deutsche Kriegsgr鋌erst鋞te) Kuressaare; memorial with names of ca 3500 buried German soldiers. The war cemetery was established by German organiaztion Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgr鋌erf黵sorge e. V. ; around 2008. it is signposted with "Deutsche Kriegsgr鋌er" (German war graves). Here; part of those Germans are buried; who faught and died during operation Albion (German: Unternehmen Aster); in October 1944 until German whithdrawal of S鰎ve peninsula (German: also Sworbe); on 24th of November; 1944. Most impressive and terrible war battle happened on 8th of October; 1944; in Tehumardi (German: Tehhemardi); part of today village of Salme. There is a Soviet and russian memorial; today; as well; with 60 grave stones and a 60 m high monument; showing a broken sword.
