Arthur Everett Shipley (1861-1927), British biologist. Shipley was Master of Christ's College, University of Cambridge, UK from 1910-27. He wrote several books, including the elementary biology text Life, and Britain's Heritage of Science with Arthur Schuster in 1917. This image is from the Bain News Service, one of America's oldest news picture agencies, which holds images dating from the 1890s to the 1930s.
