Excision of fallopian tube cyst, endoscope view. A cyst is an abnormal fluid-filled sac. This cyst (centre, red) is held by tweezers. The uterus can be seen at upper right (pink) with the affected fallopian tube joining it at upper centre. Although many cysts are benign (non-cancerous), they can cause discomfort or reproductive dysfunction. If this is the case, they may be removed by keyhole surgery of the abdomen (laparoscopy), as seen here.
