Ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus) sheltering among crinoids. This species feeds mostly on mysids but also prey on small benthic shrimp. They are often found floating among weeds and crinoids. They are related to the seahorse and they can grow up to 15 cm. Ornate ghost pipefish are sexually dimorphic. The females are larger than the males and the females have a ventral brood pouch in which to carry their young. Photographed in Lembeh Strait, Sulawesi, Indonesia.
