KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS, DRAWING,Arthrosis of the knee (gonarthrosis). Arthrosis can affect one or various articulations of the knee. Here it is global arthrosis with an affection of the following articulations : internal femorotibial, external femorotibial and femoropatellar. Furthermore, the menisci are also affected by arthrosis ; a meniscosis adds up to the gonarthrosis, forming a meniscarthrosis. The cartilages of the articulations are used, causing a rubbing of the bones. Osteophytes (bone excrescences) have formed. There is also a remodeling of the bony tissue : at the level of the friction areas, a bone condensation is being made (osteocondensation) whereas geodes (cavities) are forming in the adjacent areas.
