The Q'ente or Hummingbird. Possibly the most well known of the Nazca designs, this bird appears as a logo on many Peruvian products. Over 100 metres long, its stylised shape shows an advanced artistic vision. These designs appeared exactly the same to scale on the Nazca culture's extremely fine weavings and pottery. The fact that it rarely if ever rains here in what is an extension of the Atacama desert, means that the surface has stayed the same for 2,000 years. The mummies found littering the area still have their hair, skin and nails intact.
