Blood donation testing vials arrayed in holders at a blood donation clinic. The vials contain donor blood to be tested as part of the donation process, and are colour-coded and bar-coded to help track them through the system. The donor blood (collected separately in blood bags) will be separated into its component parts and used to treat various blood disorders, and to treat blood loss during surgery or after an accident.
