Newton's house, 35 St Martin's Street, near Leicester Square, London. The English physicist and mathematician Isaac Newton (1642-1727) lived in this three-storey house from 1710 to 1725. The house was retained until he died, and an inventory was made of the contents which included thousands of books and other documents. During this period, Newton held the positions of Master of the Royal Mint and President of the Royal Society. The house dates from around 1695, but was demolished in 1913.
