Honeysuckle flowers. (3rd of 4 images). Close-up of the open flowers of the honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum). The reproductive parts of the flower can be seen here. The stamens (white, rod- like) hold the male parts, the anthers (beige), which contain pollen. The female parts of the flower are contained in the green nodules at the base of the individual flowers. Honeysuckle, also known as woodbine, is a climbing plant common to woods and scrubland. The flowers bloom between June and October, and it is a popular garden plant due to their sweet smell. See photos B760/339-342 for the development of the flowers.
