Forensic drug detection. A sample injection robot on a forensic gas chromatography machine used to detect illegal drugs. Samples are placed in glass vials and loaded into the tray. The robotic syringe automatically draws liquid from the vial and injects it into the chromatography machine, which is sensitive enough to detect minute traces of illegal drugs in a suspect's hair weeks after any drugs were taken.
