Power station. Cooling towers of a coal-fired power station with newly-planted, staked trees. Coal is burnt in the power station to heat water and produce steam to drive electricity-generating turbines. The steam is condensed by cooling water. The now-hot cooling water is sprayed into the cooling towers, some escaping as the steam seen here. The planting of trees may be scenic landscaping or it may be to increase the number of trees available to absorb carbon dioxide from the air.
