Michel Raynaud (born 1938), French mathematician. Raynaud studied in Paris, becoming a professor in 1967 at the University of Paris-Sud (University of Paris XI). He works in the field of algebraic geometry, with the Raynaud surface and Raynaud's isogeny theorem named for him. He has worked on the Manin-Mumford conjecture and the Abhyankar conjecture. His awards include the Ampere Prize (1987) and the Cole Prize (1995). Renaud became a corresponding member of the French Academy of Sciences in 1994.
