Quantum Hall effect metrology system. Apparatus (right) being used for a measuring system based on the quantum Hall effect (QHE). This system is used to determine standards for measuring electrical resistance. The equipment is a small table-top cryogen-free quantum Hall system based on a graphene-on-silicon-carbide system. It contains a small 5-Tesla superconducting magnet at a temperature of around 2.5 Kelvin. Photographed in 2014, at the National Physical Laboratory, Teddington, UK.
