Mr Jabex A Smith of Bridgeport , Connecticut , USA and an advertising executive , claims to be the heir to the vacant title of Lord Amsbury .Mr Smith bases his claim on research which followed information by a friend in New York two years ago that the title was vacant . The last heir to the title , according to Mr Smith , was his grandfather , Jabez Amsbury , who died in 1906 after fifty years service as an officer of the Danbury Conn , National Bank .
