Paris loses its midinettes . Fashion workers join strike . Paris , fashion center of the world , has lost its famous midinettes . They have succumbed to the strike fever and have declared a ' stay in ' strike , in sympathy with thousands of other workers throughout France . At several of the great fashion houses of the city the mannequins and other workers stayed on the premises all night . Red flags were displayed in the windows of the show room .
