Soviet food ship captured by rebel warship held at nationalists port. Carrying ?000 of wheat, rye and lentils to Spain, another Soviet food ship, the 2485 t Smidovich has been seized by Spanish rebel warships in the Bay of Biscay off Santander and escorted to Pasajes, a Spanish Nationalist port. The Smidovich was bound from Leningrad with a cargo of foodstuffs sold to Spanish Republican trade organisations.
