Getting down to it at Woolwich Arsenal. Training instructors for Britain's mechanised army. These pictures, believed to be the first made in the Woolwich Arsenal since the War, show the intensive training of young men chosen from different artillery units as instructors for Britain's new mechanised army. There given extensive courses on the maintenance of tanks and motor vehicles and after their period of training will return to their own units as instructors. Photo shows, an instructor and pupil reaching the top of a stiff climb in a light Dragon Tractor at Woolwich Arsenal. The tractor has no steering wheel, the vehicle being guided by means of levers.. 23 December 1937
