Tom Finney Born in Preston, has played for the club since 1937. He has played mostly at outside right, but has also played many times on the other wing and at inside forward. To astound us in the last year or so he has been giving even greater performances from the centre forward position. He has twice been nominated Footballer of the Year by the press, which is a unique distinction. He has been capped for England 73 times and has the reputation of being one of the finest sportsmen the game has ever produced. When not busy training and playing, he manages his own plumbing business. His favourite sportsman is Chris Chataway and his ambition is to win a Cup winner's medal.
