The new London County Council's first specially built comprehensive school, was opened "by instalments" at Kidbrooke this week, and to facilitate the opening the arrival of the 1,700 girls will be spread over three days. Forms fourth, fifth and sixth, will start work today and the second and third forms tomorrow, while the first form, who are new entrants to secondary education, will arrive on Thursday. The school occupies about 10 acres with 16 acres of Playing Fields and has cost ?60,000 to build with a further ?0,000 for equipment.
