Dr Egon Erwin Kisch ( the Czech author lecurer and agitator against Fascism who was forbidden to land in Australia by the Government authorities ) leaped ashore and was zarrested - while on bail he was invited to a luncheon given in honour of Mr John Masefield ( the English poet laureate ) - because of this there have been resignations from the Empire Association - Kisch's case is to be fought out in the Australian courts - Kisch was resident in Germany when Hitler came to power and was one of the prisoners held in Spandau prison until released through the medium of the Government of Czechoslovakia - photo shows Dr Egon Kisch with a street vendor November 23rd 1934
