Dublin school strike November 1946 40,000 schoolchildren run wild when Dublin School teachers came out on strike over salary dispute. After 7 months strike 1200 teachers have returned but even now the dispute is unsettled. "I'm on strike since March" says the boy with white bag bringing home bread for the family - the other boy does a half day's school each day - he is taught by the Christian brothers schools who are not on strike. But the "lay teachers" are out on strike leaving only half staff.
