Aged Farmer, Charged With Triple Murder, Declares He Is Innocent. At the end of the opening day's session of the trial in which he is being charged with triple murder, the slaying of wartime diet export, Sir John and Lady Drummond, and their 11-year-old daughter Elizabeth, the defendent, 77-year-old Gaston Dominici, repeatedly claimed his innocence. This, in spite of the prosecution's statement that nine times during the last two years, he had admitted it. He answered most of the questions during the three-hour interrogation by saying he had never harmed anyone and to say he is a murderer is wrong. The Drummonds were slain during the night, in August 1952, as they camped close to the Dominici farm, "La Grand Terre" near Lurs, in the isolated country in the approaches to the French Alps. The trial is taking place at Digne, a nearby small township. Photo shows: The seven-man jury after it had been sworn in.
