The Rt Hon Alfred Barnes, M.P, Minister of Transport, on behalf of H.M Government and Mr I Hysing Olsen, C.BE, Head of the Norwegian Shipping and Trande Mission in London, on behalf of the Norwegian Government, this afternoon signed an agreement between the two countries where by all major outstanding claims arising out of wartime chartering to H.M Government of Norwegian merchant ships are cleared. Claims and counter claims are roughly equivilant, the total amount payable being approximately 21/2 million pounds.
