Walking with Lord Rosebery, the Queen, in navy and white, receives a salute, cheers and smiles of welcome from the Scottish womenfolk at the Scottish Veterans Garden City at Balfron Road, Penilee, today (Thursday). She was just leaving the house of Mr James Scott, war veteran. Continuing her Coronation visit to Scotland, today, in a heatwave the Queen received a real warm welcome from the crowds. Garlands, Union Jacks and Shields were much in evidence in the decorations. 25 June 1953
