Victor Henri Rochefort (1831-1913); writer; journalist and French politician. founder of the satirical newspaper 'The Lantern' and turned opponent of the Second Empire through the newspaper 'La Marseillaise'. He escaped from besieged Paris in May 1871 he was then arrested; sentenced to life imprisonment by the Versailles government and deported to New Caledonia.
