Earless dragon lizard (Tympanocryptis lineata), a small day-foraging dragon of inland grasslands and scrubs, props on a vantage point to watch for insect prey on mitchell grass (Astrebla) in Lochern National Park, outback Queensland, Australia, part of the Mitchell Grass Downs biogeographic region. Tympanocryptis refers to its cryptic, skin-covered ear, characteristic of these personable little (150mm) "earless dragons".
