Long-tailed Skipper Butterfly (Urbanus proteus), one of the largest skippers. Adults roost upside-down beneath leaves and limbs. The larva of this butterfly is called a Bean Leafroller. These insects are considered garden pests because the larvae and caterpillars feed on pea and bean leaves and also use them to roll into nightly shelters. They also migrate southward through peninsular Florida each fall. Their range is Argentina north through Central America and Mexico, the West Indies, Florida, and South Texas. Northern Duval County, Florida.
