A seal with a unicorn relief, found in Mohenjo-Daro (Mound of the Dead) one of the largest city-settlements in the Indus Valley, now located in the province of Sind, Pakistan. The city was built around 2600 BCE and abandoned around 1900 BCE. The unicorn, or a one-horned beast, is the animal most frequently portrayed on seals from this place. It is perhaps the legendary unicorn ascribed to India by Aristotle. It is always shown before a stand thought to be an incense burner, perhaps indicating its role in a religious ceremony.
