This area is called the High Meissner Hill Nature Park and is a protected area.The Meissner hill is actually an ancient volcanic dome consiting mainly of basalt and it dominates the entire region with its majestic 754 meters height. The lower flanks are sandstone and limestone. The whole hill is clad mainly in deciduous forest with a few coniferous planted up areas and it supports a very wide range of fauna and flora.
