Charmouth, Dorset - The 'Queens Armes Hotel', an early 16th century house, re-faced in the 18th century. After the house became an Inn (it was formerly part of Forde Abbey), it gave shelter to the fugitive King Charles II on 22 September 1651, when he arrived in disguise looking for a boat to take him to France following his defeat at the Battle of Worcester.
