Advertising postcard for the Carron Line Ferries which ran a service from London to Glasgow. A ferry boat ('The Avon') is depicted here travelling under the Forth Rail Bridge. The Carron Line company was founded in 1759 and folded after World War II. The company had four weekly sailings, travelling via the Forth of Firth to Glasgow. The Bridge became a UNESCO World Heritage site in July 2015.
