Khong Yai - Harmonicons (Khong Vong gong chimes) of wood or metal form the basis of bands of Siam (Thailand), Burma (Myanmar) and the Indian Archipelago. Also to be found in the local music of India and South Africa. The eighteen kettles of bronze are fixed in an ivory stand, painted to resemble tortoise-shell and edged in brass.
