Women in the Splint Room at the Kensington War Hospitals Supply Depot making papier mache splints for wounded soldiers during the First World War. The pioneering work of creating splints from cardboard and even sugar bags was initiated by two female sculptors, Elinor Halle and Anne Acheson.
