British athlete Douglas Lowe winning the 800 metres in Athletics, 1928. Lowe (1902-1981) was a double Olympic Games champion, winning gold medals at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, and at the 1928 Summer Olympics, held in Amsterdam.
