CHEOPS exoplanet-observing satellite final integration. CHEOPS is the European Space Agency (ESA)'s CHaracterising ExOPlanet Satellite. It is seen here before the solar array integration and multi-layer insulation (MLI) finalisation. The satellite was launched on 18 December 2019 from the Guiana Space Centre. It will spend around 4 years studying transiting exoplanets orbiting bright and nearby stars. Here, the CHEOPS spacecraft is in the Airbus facility in Madrid, Spain. Photographed on 21 February 2019.
