Wimmera Wheat Storages Full To Overflowing Problem Of Harvesting Speed-Up -- The Wimmera is so full of wheat, following the best harvest for 10 years, that farmers from Marnoo to Nhill hardly know what to do with it. Latest estimate of Victoria's wheat yield is 49 million bushels, 45 million of which will be delivered. Of this the Wimmera and Mallee will supply about 66 per cent. The silos are full everywhere and the overflow into the crudely constructed bulkheads at various stations is pouring in at the rate of tons a day. March 15, 1954.
