As one of the co-founders of the Vienna Secession; a group of artists that split off from the conservative academy business in 1897; he designed several posters for the Secession exhibitions. The best known is this slender portrait format; which alludes to the unity of the three arts with its three statuesque figures: architecture; painting and sculpture.
