City of Trani: All Saints Church (Italian: Chiesa di Ognissanti); also known as Church of the Knights Templar (Italian: Chiesa dei Templari); lion with prey on column right hand of the portal; main facade; the church was built in 12th century in Romanesque style; near the harbour. The presence of the order of the Knights Templar is verified for 1142. Tradition wants; that the order built this church adjactant to the hospital; here. But there is also the theory; that the church was built and used by merchants from Ravello. In 19th century; the church was also named Chiesa del Purgatorio (church of purgatory). The facade with small bell tower is richly decorated with Romanesque style figures and a portal; that is flanked by two columns with on top sculptures of a griffon and a lion; holding a prey in his mouth.
