3D computer tomography (CT) scan of the right knee of an 18 year old female patient with osteochondritis dissecans (OCD). A small piece of bone and cartilage (centre right) has separated from the internal femoral condyle at the end of the femur (thigh bone). The separated piece may stay in place or fall into the joint. OCD causes pain and swelling and, if the bone has moved, locking of the joint.
