Pliosaurus marine reptile fossil. At around 8 metres long and weighing about 5 tonnes, Pliosaurus was the largest marine reptile that ever lived. It lived during the Jurassic period, 155 million years ago. It had a short neck, a huge, crocodile-like head and powerful jaws containing a set of huge, razor-sharp teeth. Found in Nievre, France.
