
Helsinki, the Uspenski Cathedral (Cathedral of the Assumption) is the largest Orthodox church in Western Europe, built on a rock at the western end of the Katajanokka peninsula in the center of Helsinki by the architect Alexei Gornostayev in the Russian-Byzantine style (1868).
