Apollo 14 photograph of a laser reflector. The rows seen on top are mirrors & they are aligned with the sun. Stations on Earth use it to bounce off laser beams. From this they can measure the reflection, determine its location & thereby pinpoint the exact location of structures and their size on the moon. Apollo 14 was launched on 31 Jan, 1971.
