Alfred Merrill 'Al' Worden (born 1932), Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot, with a globe of the Moon. The Apollo 15 mission to the Moon took place from 26 July to 7 August 1971. NASA astronauts David Scott (commander) and James Irwin (Lunar Module pilot) descended to the lunar surface, with Alfred Worden in lunar orbit in the Command Module. Apollo 15 was Worden's only flight into space. He retired from NASA in 1975.
