Bow section of the RMS Titanic wreckage, which was the largest passenger ship upon its construction in 1911. It sank on 15 April 1912 after hitting an iceberg in the northern Atlantic, leading to the deaths of over 1500 people. The wreckage was discovered on the seabed in 1985 at a depth of around 3.5 kilometres. Photographed by a camera on the Mir II submersibles exterior, June 2003.
