
Congenital pyramidal cataract. Slit-lamp examination of a congenital pyramidal cataract in a patients left eye. A cataract is an opacity in the lens of the eye that results in blurred vision. Unless the lens is replaced, a cataract can eventually cause loss of vision. A congenital cataract is one that is present at birth. A pyramidal cataract is one with a conic shape that is also known as an anterior polar cataract.
