
Stargardt disease. Fundoscopy angiogram image of the retina of a patients eye a case of a form of retinal dystrophy known as Stargardt disease. The retina is the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye. Stargardt disease is an inherited juvenile macular degeneration that can lead to blindness. This image shows a case of Stargardt disease with bulls eye maculopathy (a drug-related form of retinal damage known as chloroquine retinopathy). Angiography is an imaging technique that highlights blood vessels on X-rays by the injection of a contrast medium.
